Microsoft Global Integration Bootcamp – Auckland 2018

Microsoft Global Integration Bootcamp – Auckland 2018

Date of Event: 24 Mar 2018

The Global Integration Bootcamp 2018 was held last weekend on 11 countries with 15 different venues. It is a community driven event supported by Microsoft. The aim of the event was to gather up community of NZ system integrators to pass on knowledge through presentations and labs.

By 8.30AM the event venue was already packed with system integrators, we even had participants who flew up from Christchurch and Wellington!

The event kicked-off with introductions from the organisers, Craig and Wagner.

This year we had perhaps the most number of speakers and broadest range of topics covered around Azure Integration technologies. And being located down under, Auckland were fortunate to be the first to run the event.

Some of the highlights from the event:

Nikolai and Harris from Adaptiv gave an overview of Event Driven architecture and how to achieve it using Azure Event Grid.

The speakers and the topic line-ups for 2018 are:

Building event-driven cloud solutions with Microsoft Azure Event Grid

Nikolai Blackie, Harris Kristanto

Introduction to Azure IoT

Mahindra Mohar, Desiree Suligan

Bots, Luis and Flow

Wagner Silveira

Logic Apps and Azure Functions deployment best practices

Alessandro Mourca

Leveraging the Microsoft Graph API using Logic Apps and Functions

Abhisek Kumar, James Corbould

Exploring Azure Data Services

Grant Harmer

We then had a quick break session for morning tea before continuing with the labs, this year the attendees were given the opportunity to pick and choose the labs that interest them the most.

All in all, our experience this year with Global Integration Bootcamp has been nothing but a pleasant one, participants were fully engaged during the presentation and labs session, and we look forward for the next one!
